Banned Books Week:

A Columbus State Community College Celebration

Columbus State’s Library celebrates Banned Books Week every year by hosting events and generating content for social media to promote education on issues dealing with censorship.

In 2020, the pandemic forced the library to close and other options were needed to promote Banned Books Week. The solution I proposed was the creation of new social media graphics that could help drive traffic to the library’s research guide.

I designed a series of illustrations, each based on a banned book. I used color, texture, and typography to make each design unique. Each graphic was posted with a link to the library’s research guide.
